Poe’s first 6 months
March 1st, 2009
We
have a new addition to the family, another Brussels Griffon named Poe - joining us right at the 2008 Christmas Holiday season. And his name is ”Poe” as in Edgar A. Poe, not Poe the bizare tellatubbie creature.
Poe’s become fast friends with Diesel, and they love to chase each other around and spend a lot time napping together. And they love to share treats….well that would be too much to hope for, but other than the treat wars they are great with sharing toys and equal opportunity lap time.
The first 6 Months:
They say the second kid always gets short-changed with regards to photos. Well it was not for lack of taking photos of little Poe but we definitely didn’t get a lot of opportunity to keep up with steady posting. Between chasing around two active pups, work, and friends/family visits we just ran out of steam and are now trying to make up for it.
Big car ride to some where, but hopefully not to the vets…
Beach Time:
Brother Diesel tagged along too…
Wait the beach was cool but now a bath….when did that become part of the plan
Hanging out with my home-boy Kid-D.
Very sleepy after a full day….
Thoughts on a New Year
January 1st, 2008
Ahhh my first 6 months have come with such speed - but I must admit I thought I’d feel more mature at this stage in my life.
True, I have rock star presence, can reach more things, and I now have more teeth which makes chewing easier (much easier if you catch my drift). But I thought with age would come a certain je ne sais quoi and ease with myself yet little things get to me, like my shadow…that thing is creepy.
I’ve learned we are moving into what my puprents call a ”new year” so that sounds fun but it was such an exciting year I’ve left behind so also sad to see it come to a close.
To you and yours may the new year be full of treats and toys.

Christmas Day 2007
December 25th, 2007
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Here are shots of the great haul big Bacchus and I pulled in…and my puprents didn’t do so bad.
And yes, my puprents found one more opportunity to dress me in that humiliating Santa suit but no jolly wear will diminish my grinchy like qualities.

The Making of a Christmas Card
December 24th, 2007
Perfect Christmas cards don’t just happen; they’re a lot of work.
This video captures the behind the scene moments that occurred while making our 2007 Christmas card.
First Bath
December 22nd, 2007
I had my first bath today - apparantly smelling like dog bones, kitty litter, and more dog bones is not what the adoring public has come to expect from me. It wasn’t half bad, rather spa like actually. I was hoping for a few shots of me in the kitchen sink but my puprents thought it might be a bit too risqué.
Here’s me in a “Bill the Cat” moment - a combo move I’ve put together to help dry off and get the water out of my ears. I highly recommend it as it’s also great for exercising facial muscles and getting rid of those pesky whisker and under eye bags.
Does this bathrobe make my butt look big?
Yeah that’s right - Hugh Heffner eat your heart out…bow chica bow wow.
A bath is so worth it when the outcome is so good!
Being Me Around Town
November 4th, 2007
My puprents and I were lounging around the casa Sunday when it hit me we should get out and go see some of my favorite down town Sarasota haunts. Normally I’m partial to the Saturday morning Farmers Market but sometimes ya gotta break the mold. And I’m glad I did - here’s me with a few of my homies and chicas.
Here’s me and a gal pal trying to look tough - check out the knife. Well it was all show and according my huMom it came off as more of rendition of West Side Story with the Sharks and the Jets. Some how that doesn’t seem quite the coolness factor I was shooting for….
Sarasota’s always a sure bet, I luv’s me the SRQ!

Life’s a Beach
October 21st, 2007
Given that I live in Florida and I’m within a 20 minute car ride from some of the worlds best beaches I thought it was high time I took a break and hit the sand (and my overly protective puprents thought it was finaly cool enough to let me go).
I wasn’t sure if I should first try kite boarding, boogie boarding, or traditional surfing, given I’m the adventurous type I was open to all options. My huMom thought I should first get the lay of the land so to speak so we decided to walk the beach for a bit.
After a few distractions I finally got to the water part…given that bathing takes water I should have put two and two together. This was not a fun outting, this was an attempt to drown or bath the Diesel (in my world when you are this small and cute it’s one in the same).
The big “B” (aka Bacchus) seems to have the all the beach moves down…I’m going to have to study him and practice a little bit harder.
Then I discovered it, sand, glorious sand…. I can dig in it, I can move it, I can roll in it…I can even poooh in, errr, I mean even get to china if I work at it enough.
I came….
I saw…
I conquered!!!

Deadlines, smedglines; I’ll get to it when I can…
October 9th, 2007
The Big “D” is still chillin after his minor bout of facial explusion. Don’t worry, he’s just milkin it. When he asked me to step in as guest editor I was a bit apprehensive. I mean, what do I know about blogging? Heck, what do I know about writing in general? I can’t even figure out how to tyipe. My big giant pawz keep mashing down the wong buttons on this tiny keeybord. Sheesh!
But then I started thinking about the situation (and bonez; hmmm bonez…) I weighed my decided lack of experience against this amazing opportunity to post embarassing pictures and stories about Diesel and well, let’s just say that situations like these don’t happen every day.
Anyway, I know ya’ll come to this site to see pictures of the little guy so I won’t keep you waiting. More will be coming soon; I just have to figure out how to use Photoshop. Oh yeah,… even the little guy needs some retouching from time to time.
I hope ya’all noticed that the “Big D” and I have similiar work attire. We like to look good for our fans. If you look close, you’ll notice Diesel is learning harmonica. We love harmonica…
Puffy KidD Rockin the House
September 17th, 2007
So I had my first round of Puppy-Distemper shots…well let’s just say it was more effective than collagen. My people were on the ball and got it all taken care of but several shots later and a well meant growl/snarl/snap for the vet I can say definetly not cool…
By Saturday I felt better, the lips were a little less Mick Jagger and a little more Steven Tyler so I was ready to rock and roll with my adoring public. I got my familly to break out the formal skull collar bling and we hit the road (of course we had pupperazzi tailing us so had to keep a low profile).
The farmers market, a dog shop, another dog shop, and lunch at the Old Salty Dog gotta stick with the theme - it’s all about me after all. There were lots of adoring public - I even had people asking to take my photo and I gave out lots of autograph licks.
The Old Salty Dog was cool, I got my own dog bowl, and of course they put us at the best table in the joint. Did I mention the crazy lady that thought I was a cat on a leash…dude pulllease as if a cat would have my suave style.
Then things got snoozy again, apparantly Puffy KidD was still not quite over the shots and I relapsed quicker than Lindsey Lohan - next thing you know I was sleeping around town more than Paris H.
I even gave Big Daddy’0 a break… and BigB joined me as well (even a big ole’dog player like BigB needs some beauty rest).
That’s all for now, I’m doing much better now, even managed to sink my teeth into a few things and trash the place rockstar style…

Diesel’s first week home…
September 2nd, 2007
Here’s my first day at Casa Shangra La…primarily recovering from my flight, napping, snacking, napping, exploring, and some more napping… What can I say Kid D needs his beauty rest.
Here’s me on the move, my dad has to put the camera on sports mode to catch my speed in action.
Here’s me being cute, but you gotta admit that’s fairly easy for me to achieve.
My mom wants me to try to reach my Zen style (like my big brother) for a little peace and tranquility…like something named Diesel can be calm….
Okay maybe I can chill…wait is that pool…I have a pool…
This is too cool… I’m a wild child and it’s a dog’s life…
Big Brother’s quote of the day:
“Where did this little thing come from and when does it go back?
